CHOCOLATE DONUTS
I made these donuts for my daughter’s birthday party. This was my first time ever making donuts. They do not have the texture of fried donuts of course but OMG they are so delicious. I actually liked them better without the glaze but since they were for a party I added it. You can guess which one will hold the birthday candle!
You can find the recipe by Brandi Doming at “The Vegan 8” blog: Vegan Chocolate Donuts (Gluten-free & Oil-free).
In nature, high carbohydrate and high fat do not occur in combination. With processed foods, however, this combination is common and creates an addictive quality. Fried donuts combine both of these and are a concentrated source of calories yet are not very filling. Frying in oil creates carcinogens so best to be avoided.

Go to the blog site to print off the recipe since I did not make significant changes. Here are some comments:
-My donut pans were silicone and made smaller than normal donuts. My husband got them off Amazon and this was my first time trying them. They worked great. No need for oil. No need to use toothpicks to pry them out of the mold. Instead of 6 donuts the batter made 12 donuts.
-I used my kitchen scale to measure the ingredients like she recommended.
-Baked for 14 minutes. Cooled in pan for 10 minutes.
-Dipping the donuts into the glaze did not seem the best option for me. I ended up using my finger to paint on the glaze. I had plenty of glaze left over.
