DOUBLE CHOCOLATE BANANA NICE CREAM

My friend Thom admitted he wanted to eat more plant-based foods but had a weakness for chocolate ice cream. His wife and I whipped up a batch of "nice cream" so Thom could see there was a healthier alternative and he loved it!!

This recipe, with its addition of maple syrup and raw almond butter, created a very rich, creamy "nice cream." I typically enjoy "nice cream" without those ingredients but Thom can start with this recipe then gradually reduce the maple syrup and almond butter as he desires to reach his health goals.

What we did:

In a food processor blended until smooth the following:

-2 very ripe bananas which had been sliced and frozen

-2 TBSP cacao powder

-2 TBSP maple syrup

-1 TBSP raw almond butter

-splash vanilla extract

-sprinkle of 70% dark chocolate chips
