5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE HUMMUS
Here is a super quick and healthy options for dipping fruit in something delicious and chocolaty.
You can find the original recipe at “Don’t Waste The Crumbs” blog: 5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE HUMMUS
I substituted all of the maple syrup for date paste. If you are trying to allow your taste buds to gradually "detox" from super sweet substances, use part maple syrup, part date paste at first. To substitute, use about twice as much date paste as you would maple syrup.
What I did differently:
-Used a 15 oz can of black beans, drained and rinsed in place of garbanzo beans because I did not feel like removing the skins from the garbanzo beans!
-Made date paste using 1 cup packed dates and 1/2 cup water and used it all (about 10 TBSP) to replace the maple syrup
-Increased vanilla to 2 tsp (per my husband's request to smooth out the bitterness of the cacao powder)
-Did not add salt
-Used raw cacao powder instead of cocoa powder because it is what I have (raw cacao powder maintains more of its nutrients)
-Used the optional 2 TBSP water
