GINGER HEART COOKIES
These cookies are supposed to be heart-shaped but I don’t own a heart-shaped cookie cutter. My cookies were less attractive but easier and still tasty. The spiciness is mild so if you like a strong flavor, increase the spices. These cookies are free of salt, oil, and sugar (SOS-free).

Cathy Fisher's blog article is a bit long but worth the read to understand how going "SOS-free" can boost you on your path towards better health.
What I did:
-Used 20 Deglet Noor dates, coarsely chopped
-Ground my own oats into flour, needed to add about another 1/2 cup of flour since my dough was too wet
-Want to clarify that the almond butter is raw, not roasted
-Used strawberry jam because it's what I had
-Since the dough was still wet, I rolled into small balls and flattened using the bottom of a small jar covered with plastic wrap. Refrigerated another 30 minutes. Then used the bottom of a shot glass covered with plastic wrap to press the center flatter where I then added 1/4th tsp jam.
-Made 26 cookies. Baked 20 minutes.
