CHILE MORITA SALSA
I have been eating exclusively Mexican food for the past 2 weeks. My awesome girlfriend from Mexico is visiting plus there is a new Mexican grocery store on Southland Drive, "Supermarket Aguascalientes," which made it convenient to buy ingredients.
Here is a simple salsa recipe made with tomatillos which has a smoky flavor due to the chile morita pods which are dried smoked jalapenos. We put this salsa on almost everything we ate! So delicious!
Find the recipe at “Dora’s Table”: Chile Morita Salsa.

What we did differently:
-Made a double batch.
-Used only 1 pepper per pound of tomatillos since my husband does not handle spicy hot food.
-Used a mortar and pestle (molcajete) for grinding but using a blender is an option.
