"HAMBURGER GRAVY" (SOS)

My father was in the Navy and had to eat "shit on a shingle" (SOS) regularly so came to passionately dislike it. My mother was forbidden to make it. This recipe caught my eye though is a very different version than what I know as SOS made with chipped beef, milk, and butter. This version tastes like gravy and I served it over biscuits...it is delicious, healthy, and filling.

What I did differently:

-Used sweet onion

-My tamari was reduced sodium

-Used 2 cups broth instead of half broth/half water, mine was prepared Orrington Farm Vegan Beef

-Used 1 tsp Dijon

-Reduced salt to 1/2 tsp and next time will leave it out

-My canned lentils did not have added salt

-Due to the order of the gravy ingredients, don't forget to add the garlic when the instructions say "add the remaining gravy ingredients and spice/herb mix".
